Under the lights at San Bruno Park
Now over 100 years old, Tom Lara Field sits at the heart of San Bruno City Park and stands as one of the Bay Area’s most historic public ballfields. Formerly known as Diamond 1, the field was renamed in 1988 in honor of Tom Lara, a beloved local coach and founding figure of the Joe DiMaggio Youth Baseball League. With 90-foot bases, lighting, bleachers, and a rich tradition of community baseball, it has long been a landmark for the game.
The Seagulls began playing there full-time in 2019, and since then have made significant investments to elevate the facility. This includes a full renovation of both bullpens with synthetic turf, a partnership with the San Francisco Giants to bring their professional-grade infield mix to Tom Lara Field, and a complete reconstruction of the infield playing surface. These upgrades have helped make Tom Lara Field one of the most prestigious public park fields in the Bay Area. The ballpark also includes a concession stand, and the Collegiate Seagulls will host 20 home games there each summer during June and July.
